Justin Henry Rosenthal, age 28, of Cicero, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was born September 25, 1996 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was beloved by friends and family and was a loving son, brother and newly smitten uncle. He will be lovingly missed, but the memory of his adventurous spirit, humble demeanor, giving nature and intelligent wit will be forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

Justin is survived by his parents, David and Denise Rosenthal of Cicero, IN; his sister Erin Loomis and her husband Brandon; his cherished little niece, Lydia Loomis of Fishers, IN; and his grandfather, Richard Reprogle of Kokomo, IN. Also surviving are Aunts, Deb (Rick) Seders of Lafayette, IN, and Angela (Brian) Shockney of Martinsville; Uncles, Michael (Kristi) Reprogle of Greentown, IN, and Matthew (Karen) Reprogle of Fishers, IN, several cousins, and his bonus grandmother Irene Seders of Lafayette, IN. 

Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Wilma Rosenthal, grandmother, Josephine Reprogle, and his aunt Teresa Nehrig and uncle Henry Rosenthal III. 

Justin grew up in Cicero, IN, was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School attending classes at Purdue in West Lafayette after high school.  Justin’s childhood was filled with memorable experiences surrounded by family and friends – long summer weekends exploring state parks with his parents and sister, camping trips with numerous other families and children, the tradition of Christmas holidays spent at Pokagon State Park with his extended family, and spring breaks on Florida beaches. He spent many an hour during his teen years with his tribe of friends playing video games and eating junk foods of choice. He also loved spending time playing with the family dogs, Domino and Ellie. 

He played soccer all through his school years which culminated in helping his Huskie team win their first sectional title his senior year. He enjoyed his lake time with family and friends and was also a natural at all things water sports from a young age. People who knew Justin, knew he loved skateboarding – taking it up at a young age continuing it through multiple injuries and into adulthood – sometimes traveling long distances to experience skateparks and getting to know the people who frequented them. 

Justin was an independent spirit and intensely curious, always striking out to research new things and take on unique hobbies without regard to social conventions or what was trending with his peers. His interests were varied but the one that endured from his childhood to his adult life was inspired by his Grandma Jo in the kitchen. He loved to experiment with food, using his intuition and creativity for all things delicious and interesting. He applied his culinary talent to working at restaurants as an adult and his compassionate nature inspired him to cook and serve food to the homeless. Some of his happiest moments were spent using his skills on the family’s Big Green Egg and the Blackstone Grill with his dad. 

Justin’s faced many challenges throughout his adult life, yet he endured them with incredible courage and remained a person of remarkable kindness and sincerity. Those closest to him were deeply touched by his gentle spirit and unwavering goodness. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. 

We encourage you to celebrate Justin's life by sharing any favorite memories, stories, and pictures of him on his memorial page. As we remember Justin, we'll mourn his loss but also celebrate the impact of his life. His adventurous spirit, kind soul, and sharp humor will forever be cherished and remembered. 

Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Hartley Funeral Home in Cicero, IN. A Celebration of Life gathering for friends and family to honor Justin’s life will take place at Harbour Trees Golf Club in Noblesville, IN at 333 Regents Park Ln from 6:30 – 8:30 pm following the visitation. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI (NAMIindiana.org) or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Justin’s care has been entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes in Cicero, IN and online condolences may be made at their website.
